Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva won a dramatic victory in October’s Brazilian Presidential election. He won with 51.79% of the vote, securing 4.4 million more votes than his right-wing challenger Flávio Bolsonaro. He will be the first president of Brazil, since its return to civilian rule in 1985, to be elected after losing the first round of the election.
