Following the United States attack on Venezuela and kidnapping of its President and First Lady on 3 January of this year, it has become very clear that the United States offensive against Venezuela is currently focussed on the issue of oil. The United States is determined to control the output from Venezuelaโs huge reserves.
Currently the United States is also preparing for a show trial of President Maduro and Celia Flores in 2027, on concocted โdrug traffickingโ charges.
At the end of August, the United States and Venezuelan governments announced they had signed an oil deal, the full terms of which have not been made public. However, what information is known about the deal is causing considerable debate amongst those who support Venezuelan sovereignty.
In this short video, Carlos Ron presents a view on the current situation around the US indictment of President Maduro; the oil deal agreed between Venezuela and the US; and the situation of the working class in Venezuela.
